About Us

Based at the Pier, Facing the Sea

Limestone Horizons sits a short walk from the Pak Nam boat landing on Maharat Road. We started with a single kayak route through the mangrove channels behind Ko Klang and, over several seasons, built out a small set of water activities and a cluster of garden bungalows for visitors who want a calm base rather than a resort.

The team is local — our guides grew up paddling these channels and know which lagoon goes quiet by 7 am and which bay fills with longboat traffic by noon. Trips are small-group by design. Gear is checked after each hire. The bungalows have ceiling fans, proper beds, and bicycles you can borrow without signing three forms.

What the Krabi Coast Offers

The area around Pak Nam is quieter than the main tourist bay. These are some of the things worth knowing before you arrive.

Sheltered Lagoons

The channels between Ko Klang and the mainland stay calm most mornings, making them well-suited for kayaking and paddleboarding even when the outer bay has wind chop.

Dry Season Timing

November through April brings the clearest water and lightest winds. The sea stays warm and swimmable year-round; October marks the tail of the rainy season when the coast is green and quiet.

Pak Nam Neighbourhood

The local pier, fresh market, and several good noodle shops are walkable from the bungalows. It is a residential neighbourhood rather than a resort strip, which keeps the pace relaxed.

Morning Light on the Lagoons

The half-day kayak departs around 7:30 am from the Maharat Road landing — early enough to catch the water before tour boat traffic starts up the main channels. The route runs through a mangrove passage, opens into a shallow enclosed lagoon, and finishes at a sand bar with shade. Total paddle time is roughly two hours; the rest is floating and looking at things.

Guides carry a basic first aid kit and know which sections to avoid if a weather system is moving through. New paddlers get a briefing on the beach; there is nothing technically demanding about the route.

A Room That Doesn't Try Too Hard

The garden bungalows are simple — tiled floors, ceiling fan, a wide porch with two chairs, and a bathroom with good water pressure. Breakfast is rice soup or toast with fruit, served in the small open-air kitchen between 7 and 9. The bicycles outside are free to use; the map on your door marks a beach on the back road that most visitors miss entirely.

Check-in from 2 pm, check-out by 11. Three nights is the minimum booking because one day tends not to be enough once people see the area.

How We Look After People on the Water

Small-group trips with local guides, properly maintained gear, and a clear briefing before every departure.

Life Vests Included

Every kayak trip comes with a correctly-sized life vest and a dry bag for your phone and camera.

Groups of Six or Fewer

Trips are capped so the guide can keep an eye on everyone. No large flotillas — just a small group moving at the same pace.

Gear Checked After Every Hire

Snorkel sets, fins, and SUP boards are rinsed and inspected after each return. Anything worn gets replaced before the next hire.

Reachable by Phone

The team answers calls during operating hours. For anything that can't wait, +66 89 305 7142 is the direct line.

How We Think About the Coast

A few things that shape the way we run trips and manage the bungalows.

Small Groups, Local Guides

Every trip is led by a guide who has paddled these channels for years. We keep groups small so there is time to stop, look around, and answer questions that don't fit a script.

No Single-Use Plastics On Trips

Water comes in refillable bottles. Guides carry a small bag for collecting any debris floating in the channels. It is a minor thing, but it adds up over a season.

Transparent Pricing, No Add-On Surprises

The price listed is the price charged. Gear hire includes the fitting, the rinse, and the return. Bungalow stays include breakfast and bicycles. Nothing gets added at checkout.

From Visitors Who've Been Here

The morning kayak was the best thing I did in Krabi. We were on the water before anyone else and had the lagoon to ourselves for about 45 minutes. The guide was calm, funny, and knew exactly where to stop.

Stayed three nights in the garden bungalow. Quiet, genuinely comfortable, and the breakfast was properly good. The bicycle map led us to a bay I would never have found on my own. Will come back for a week.

Hired the snorkel and SUP for two days. The board was in great shape and the staff did a proper fitting for the snorkel mask — small thing, but it made a real difference in the water. Easy process all round.

Common Questions

Do I need prior kayaking experience?
The lagoon route is designed for people who have never paddled before. The guide runs a short on-shore briefing covering basic strokes and how to hold the paddle, and the water is sheltered enough that there is nothing technically demanding. Children from around age 10 can usually manage with a guide nearby.
What is the meeting point for the kayak tour?
We meet at the boat landing on Maharat Road, Pak Nam — the same road as our address at number 27. We will confirm the exact spot when the booking is confirmed. Parking is available nearby.
Can I hire gear for multiple days in a row?
Yes. Hire is priced per day at ฿3,500. Gear needs to be returned each evening so it can be rinsed and checked. If you are staying in the bungalows, drop-off and pickup is straightforward since we are close by.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my kayak trip?
We check the marine forecast each morning. If conditions are unsuitable — heavy rain with strong wind, or a weather warning in effect — we will contact you the evening before or by 6 am on the day. In those cases, we reschedule for another morning during your stay, or refund in full if no other date works.
Is the bungalow rate per room or per person?
The ฿11,200 rate is per room for three nights. Each room sleeps two adults comfortably. Breakfast is included for the occupants of the room. If you are a solo traveller, the rate is the same — the bungalow is yours.
How is my personal data handled when I submit the booking form?
We collect your name, email, and phone number to confirm and manage your booking. We do not share or sell this information to third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Notice.
